Enrique Valdivia, MD

Dr. Enrique Valdivia, born in Arequipa, Peru, completed his medical degree at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. He pursued his residency in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he also completed a Gastroenterology fellowship.

Dr. Valdivia is trained in the management of esophageal, gastric, and colonic disorders—including IBD and IBS—as well as pancreatic diseases, with advanced training in ERCP. He also trained in a liver transplant center, gaining extensive experience in caring for patients with complex liver disease.

His life philosophy is to treat patients with respect, listen carefully to their concerns, and empower them with knowledge about their medical conditions. He believes medicine is a true partnership between doctor and patient, with both contributing to achieve the best outcomes—especially when managing complex medical issues.

When he is not working, Dr. Valdivia enjoys spending time with his family, grilling in the backyard, and indulging his passion for tennis—both as an avid follower of the sport and an enthusiastic player.
