Crohn’s Disease

Crohn’s Disease is a chronic autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation in the digestive tract (also known as the GI tract). It can affect any area from the mouth to the rectum, but most commonly affects the lower part of the small intestine. The disease causes inflammation and swelling, which makes the intestines to empty quickly. causing fatigue, diarrhea, abdominal pain and other symptoms.

Symptoms of Crohn’s disease can vary from patient to patient and can be mild to severe. They can also worsen over time. Symptoms often come on gradually but can develop quickly without warning in some patients. Some patients may go into remission, where they may experience extended periods of time without symptoms.

Crohn’s Disease may be difficult to diagnose because the symptoms are so similar to other intestinal disorders.
